Government & Politics

When the righteous are in authority the people rejoice;

when the wicked rule the people groan.

Proverbs 29:2

An important assignment on the Mountain of Government & Politics, becomes to discover what it is that makes the people “groan” and to turn it into something that makes them “rejoice”. When a nation’s government is riddled with scandals and thievery and obviously exists for the benefit of those in power, rather than for the ones it serves, the effect on that nation is fear, apathy, and hopelessness because the people see no possibility for prosperity, growth and change.

When government functions the way it is supposed to, love is displayed as POWER – the power to prosper in every way. God created us with the ability to produce or create and get wealth. Deuteronomy 8:18 – Government must exist to create the enabling environment within which its people can thrive. When it does, it conditions the hearts of the people it serves, to believe that God the King, is indeed good.

What we propose

  • To support Freedom Of Religion South Africa (FOR SA) and other similar organisations in their quest to keep the public informed on contentious laws that affect family values or that threaten our religious freedom
  • To ensure that the public is properly informed on the various draft laws, either via workshops or other media, before laws are promulgated or gazetted
  • To ensure that proper consultative processes have taken place between the public and law makers before laws are passed
  • Review of all laws governing the use of addictive substances, like marijuana, cocaine, alcohol, etc.
  • The Review of the abortion law as a means of birth control.
  • To agree in prayer with Intercessors for South Africa (IFSA), South Africa Prayer Movement for Change (SAPMC) and other intercessory groups, for God to raise up leaders for His harvest and to ensure that they are properly equipped. (Matthew 9:38)
  • To ensure ethical governance amongst our Civil Servants with zero-tolerance for corruption and the successful prosecution of those who are found guilty
  • To ensure that officials who are found to be corrupt are dismissed and prosecuted and not just suspended
  • To ensure that prayer is brought back in all three tiers of government
  • Build a relationship with the local and district municipalities and ensure that we have a “Gatekeeper” in every department

“Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth”– Abraham Lincoln
